| Beckley's outdoor dramas,
"Honey in the
Rock" and "Hatfields & McCoys", are performed each year at the
Cliffside Amphitheater at Grandview. In addition, two other outdoor
dramas are just slightly over an hour's drive away from the New River
Gorge and Beckley,
WV vicinity.

The Aracoma Story
For more than 25 years this outdoor drama performed by local actors and actress has retold the legend of the Shawnee princess Aracoma, daughter of Chief Cornstalk, who saved the British scout, Boling Baker, from death at her father's hand. Performances held in an outdoor amphitheater at Chief Logan State Park, near Logan, West Virginia (WV), during August of each year.
The Long Way Home
Radford, Virginia (VA): An outdoor drama depicting Mary Draper Ingles' 850 mile escape from the Shawnee in 1755 through some of the most rugged, and then unexplored terrain of the North American Continent by following the rivers. A trip fraught with danger to give warning of a second Indian attack, her incredible journey, as portrayed in this outdoor drama has won the approval of audiences since 1971.
Theatre West Virginia
For almost half a century visitors have been enjoying the summer outdoor dramas “Honey in the Rock” and “Hatfields & McCoys” at the Cliffside Amphitheatre at Grandview. Both historical musical dramas are performed nightly, except Mondays, under the stars in this beautiful natural preserve, part of the National Park Service’s New River Gorge National River.
