From 1897 until The Great Depression, the Pence Springs Hotel was among West Virginia's exclusive resorts. Today, it's among its romantic inns. The hotel is 20-miles west of Lewisburg and the State Fairgrounds on W.Va. 3 and 30-miles south of Interstate 64.

For almost half a century visitors have been enjoying the summer outdoor dramas “Honey in the Rock” and “Hatfields & McCoys” at the Cliffside Amphitheatre at Grandview. Both historical musical dramas are performed nightly, except Mondays, under the stars in this beautiful natural preserve, part of the National Park Service’s New River Gorge National River.

Thurmond Depot
Once among the greatest railroad towns along the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway (C&O), Thurmond recaptures the days when steel rails, steam locomotives, and coal were the major themes in our nation's history. Today, the historic Thurmond Depot has been restored to serve as a NPS visitor center in the New River Gorge National River. Exhibits and historic furnishings bring the golden days of railroading back to life. Located in the heart of the New River Gorge, in Thurmond, West Virginia.
