New River Gorge Bridge Stamp

A First-Day-Of-Issue Ceremony will be held at the Canyon Rim Visitor Center, near Fayetteville, WV, on April 11th for the New River Gorge Bridge stamp. Following the ceremony, participants can purchase the new Priority Mail stamp and cancellation on site. The Priority Mail stamp features a digital illustration, depicting the New River Gorge Bridge near sunset.

First-Day-of-Issue Ceremony

The New River Gorge National River, in partnership with the United States Postal Service, will host a First-Day-Of-Issue Ceremony at the Canyon Rim Visitor Center in Lansing, West Virginia at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 11th. The ceremony will feature local and state representatives and West Virginia musical selections. Following the ceremony, participants can purchase the Priority Mail Stamp and cancellation on site. The Priority Mail stamp features a digital illustration by Dan Cosgrove of Clarendon Hills, Illinois, depicting the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia near sunset.

Canyon Rim Visitor Center will also host an Open House before and after the event from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Featuring local musicians, the Open House will also highlight guitarist Kerry Kean, who will perform West Virginia favorites and original compositions inspired by his time in the gorge. The Open House will also include the visitor’s centers newest features: an eleven-minute film created through a partnership with West Virginia Public Broadcasting, a 3-D
topographical model map of the New River Gorge, and a remodeled bookstore.
