The
public river access point at McCreery
provides access to fishing the New River, and is
located in the New River Gorge near Prince, WV.
The New River provides great fishing for
smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, striped
bass, rock bass, walleye, muskellunge,
crappie, bluegill, carp, and flathead and
channel catfish.
Float fishing: McCreery is often used as
as the put-in point for float fishing trips on
New River, with Stone Cliff often being
used as the take-out point.
Notes: Due to dangerous rapids in New
River, only experienced whitewater boaters should attempt
float trips.

access For Small Boats
Car Parking: 5 spaces
Notes: Float fishing is recommended only
for those very experience with whitewater
navigation. Rapids on New River can be
dangerous!
Directions: Take WV-25 towards Prince,
WV. At base of mountain, turn onto Terry
Road. The McCreery access area is on the
right.
