Arbuckle Connector Trail

This steep and rocky New River Gorge trail connects the southern end of the Southside Trail with the Rend Trail. Along its winding and arduous course its passes abandoned coke ovens and other stoneworks, at Rend (Wee Win), a coal mining operation of the early-1900s.

Trailhead Information

Directions

Newlyn Trailhead: From US-19 at Glen Jean, WV, turn left onto routes WV-16/WV-61 and follow 0.4 miles north to the first cross-street intersection. Turn right onto WV-21/20, and then left after 230 feet onto McKell Avenue. After another 200 feet, turn left onto Thurmond Road (WV-25). Proceed 5.1 miles to the Rend Trail parking area on the left.
