Fayetteville Trail
This strenuous trail wanders across the southern wall of the New River Gorge, ascending and descending through the ravines of tributary streams and crossing ridges north and west of Fayetteville, WV. Along its route it joins eight other National Park Service trails, including the Long Point Trail, Timber Ridge Trail, Butcher Branch Trail, Fayetteville Park Loop, and New River Gorge Bridge Trail.
Wolf Creek Trailhead Information: From US-19,
turn onto Lansing-Edmond Road (CR-5) just north
of the Canyon Rim Visitor Center. Turn right
onto Fayette Station Road (CR-82) and follow
through the gorge, crossing the New River on
the restored Fayette Station Bridge, and
continuing 1.2 miles to a small parking area
along Wolf Creek on the left.
Kaymoor Top Trailhead Information: From US-19
at Fayetteville, WV, follow WV-16 south to a
left onto Gatewood Road (CR-9). Follow Gatewood
two miles to the left onto Kaymoor Top Road
(CR-9/2). Follow one mile and bear left into
the parking area.
