Kaymoor Miners Trail

This New River Gorge hiking trail is among the most strenuous trail that many people will ever hike. Worn a century ago, the miners' trail at Kaymoor falls more than 800 vertical feet from the rim of the gorge to the former site of the community of Kaymoor near the New River, wandering through switchbacks and descending an elaborate staircase of 821 steps. Trails highlights include spectacular views of the gorge and the ruins of the town of Kaymoor and its mine.
