On the north end of the New River Gorge Bridge, the Laing Loop Trail provides a shady respite for hikers. On its tour of the level tableland beyond the New River Gorge,
this popular hiking trail winds through field and forest and groves of rhododendron.
Unlike most trails near the New River Gorge Bridge, the Laing Loop Trail avoids the high cliffs along the rim of the New River Gorge (and is thus recommended for families with young children). On its tour of the level tableland beyond the New River Gorge,
the Laing Loop Trail winds through open fields, hardwood
forest and groves of rhododendron.
Trail Rating: 1.1 miles - easy hiking
Trailhead Information: This scenic West Virginia hiking trail begins and ends at the Burnwood Day-Use Area across U.S. 19 expressway from the National Park Service's Canyon Rim Visitor
Center near Fayetteville, West Virginia (WV).
