Stone Cliff Trail

This New River Gorge hiking and biking trail follows an old road along the banks of the New River from the Stone Cliff Camping Area and boat launch to a remote bottom. Along the way it offers plenty of opportunity for travelers to experience the river up close.

Trailhead Information: From US-19 at Glen Jean, WV, turn left onto routes WV-16/WV-61 and follow 0.4 miles north to the first cross-street intersection. Turn right onto WV-21/20, and then left after 230 feet onto McKell Avenue. After another 200 feet, turn left onto Thurmond Road (WV-25). Proceed six miles to a three-way junction at Dun Glen, and bear right. Travel another 0.1 miles to a righthand turn into the Stone Cliff launch and camping area just before crossing the Stone Cliff Bridge. The trail starts at the far end of the parking area.
