Ansted, WV

| Incorporated in 1861 and named
for David T.
Ansted, a celebrated geologist of London, England, a former owner of
the land upon which the town is located. The mother of the Confederate
Civil War general, "Stonewall" Jackson, is buried in Ansted's Westlake
Cemetery, along with several Civil War soldiers. |
