The sign at the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway depot said "Beckley" but it was actually located at present-day Mabscott. "Beckley Station" was opened in Sept. of 1904. This point on the line became known as "Beckley Junction."

Between 1904-1906, the Piney River & Paint Creek Railroad built a line from Beckley Junction to Cranberry, passing through Beckley where it established a depot. Photo, circa 1906.
